The Trolls are the happiest and most good‑natured creatures in the universe. That’s why they are so coveted by the evil Bergens, who are convinced that eating Trolls is the only way to finally find happiness. When a Bergen eventually discovers the Trolls’ hideout, she captures some of them and brings them back to her kingdom. Princess Poppy then has no choice but to set out after them. She is joined on her mission by Branch, a pessimistic, grumpy Troll who prefers silence to the carefree, nonstop singing of his fellow Trolls.
