The continuing adventures of the animals from the New York Zoo — Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippopotamus — who are still stranded on the island of Madagascar and are now preparing to leave it. They will then find themselves in the African savannah, where Alex will finally be reunited with his family, but will later discover difficulties communicating with them after having spent so much time at the Central Park Zoo.
