Even though his mother has strictly forbidden it, Luca — a young sea monster — ventures out of the water. He soon discovers that once he’s dry, his scales disappear and he takes on a human appearance. On the beaches of the Italian Riviera, he meets Alberto, another sea monster his age, who encourages him to explore the nearby town. The two new friends befriend Giulia, a teenage girl who motivates them to take part in a triathlon. But they must be extremely careful, because if the townspeople discover their true identity, they’re done for.
